Changes in theme house locations

By Kavita Premkumar on October 18, 2018

This year, there have been several changes in the theme houses’ locations. The LGBTQIA+ Safe Haüs took the upstairs half of 17/19 Howard Street, an area that Media Amelioration and Discernibility (MAD) House used to occupy. MAD House has moved to 27 Pine Street, where Student Organization of Hispanics and Latinx (SOHL) House used to be. SOHL has moved to 46/48 East Main Street, where the House of Residents Engaged in Political Science (REPS) used to be located. House of REPS has moved to 34 Taunton Avenue, where the house for Cognitive Health in Lyons’ Lives (CHILL) used to be. CHILL house, as well as Peace House, no longer exist.

The current President of SOHL house, Mateo Espinosa Tokuhama, described their new house as a “more visible” location than their previous house. As a result of the location change, the house has grown from 6 to 11 members, and is now a co-ed house.

An updated list of the theme houses’ locations are as follows:

Art Haus: 44 Howard Street.

Davis House: 7/9 Howard Street.

Environmentally Conscious Community Oriented (ECCO) House: 9 Taunton Avenue.

Emerson Feminist Perspective House: Second floor of Emerson Dining.

Farm House: Guest House.

House of REPS: 34 Taunton Avenue.

Hungry Lyons House: 26/28 Taunton Avenue.

Jewish Life House: 22 Howard Street.

MAD House: 27 Pine Street.

Outdoors House: 17 Pine Street.

Renaissance House: 11 Howard Street.

Safe Haus: 17/19 Howard Street.

SOHLs House: 46/48 East Main Street.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) House: 1/3 Howard Street.

Together We All Prosper (TWAP) House: 25 Pine Street.

Any students interested in learning more about a theme house should contact the President of the respective house.
