The annual Lyons Pride 5K took place on October 25. The runners included alums, students, visitors and even administrative members.

The race, which started and ended outside of Meadows Hall, was a standard 5 kilometer race (3.1 miles). The crowd was relatively large and very inclusive as to who could race. Most racers registered online prior to the event, as that was the standard way to do it. However, racers could show up close to the beginning of the event and still be eligible to race. The Lyons Pride 5K started at 8 a.m., but any racer who showed up after 7 a.m. could still register and take part in the event.

The race had a lot of encouragement from the Wheaton campus as President Hanno showed up to participate. Additionally, many showed up to support the runners (including the Wheaton mascot).

All funds raised from admission fees went to the Wheaton Fund to benefit the athletic programs on campus. The race appears to have been quite successful and garnered lots of enthusiasm from the student body.
