Win Loft Cash! Intramural tourneys a must

By Stephen Angelo on March 27, 2013

As the spring season begins to blossom, so do the opportunities to get involved with a large variety of intramural events throughout campus. For the second year in a row, Wheaton Intramural sports will be hosting the Tournament of Champions, a week long series of tournaments that offer students the opportunity to stay active without the long term commitment of varsity, club or more dedicated intramural sports programs.

Hoping to generate interest in new sports and activities around campus, Wheaton intramurals plans to offer tournaments which will peak the interests of many groups around campus. While popular tournaments, such as outdoor 2-on-2 basketball and ping pong will be returning this year, there are several new tournaments which will be hosted throughout April. Co-ed beach volleyball, Wii video games and co-ed dodge ball will be new additions to the tournament lineup in 2013. As always, the Head of the Peacock Regatta, held during Spring Weekend, will be the highlight of the intramural season.

Along with the pride and glory of winning one of these tournaments, Wheaton students also qualify to win free intramural gear or Loft gift certificates just by signing up. Every participant is entered into an end of the year raffle for several great prizes.

If you’re interested in signing up for any intramural tournaments or want more information, visit the Recreation web page on the Wheaton website or contact the intramural office.
