Boston Calling summer lineup features rarity and diversity

Boston Calling recently released its official May 2016 lineup and schedule for the second show of the year on February 18. The festival will be featuring 23 artists, including Sia, Robyn, Disclosure, Janelle Monáe, Sufjan Stevens and Haim from May 27 to 29 in Boston’s City Hall Plaza.

Although the three-day schedule was not released until recently, the featured artists were released in early January of this year, and tickets were first sold on January 15. Buying tickets ahead of time resulted in a Day One discount. All other tickets purchased after 24 hours were sold at the original target price, averaging 60 to 90 dollars for a single day ticket.

This summer’s lineup features some rare performances, such as Sia and Sufjan Stevens, as well as rising stars like Elle King. Many artists like Disclosure, City and Colour, and The Front Bottoms have released new albums within the last year, providing a variety of highly anticipated performances.

Boston Calling has also been expanding outreach to its fans in anticipation of the festival in the summer. Free tickets and potential opportunities for people to sing with their favorite performers are given to various partakers for the upcoming event. This effort is expanded by their large presence on social media, such as Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and Twitter.
